Today, we take a closer look at their journey, their musical style, and some of their most famous work.

Blog Body:

Anthrax was formed in 1981 by Scott Ian and Danny Lilker. The band was a part of the early wave of thrash metal along with bands like Metallica, Slayer, and Megadeth. The first couple of years for the band were dominated by a series of demo tapes and several live performances across the US. By the time they released their debut album Fistful of Metal in 1984, they had already gained a small but loyal fan following. The album was a hit among the metal community, establishing Anthrax as a band to watch out for.

Following the success of their debut album, Anthrax released their sophomore album Spreading the Disease in 1985. The album marked major changes for the band, including the addition of singer Joey Belladonna and bassist Frank Bello. The album spawned several hit songs such as Madhouse, A.I.R., and Armed and Dangerous. Anthrax gained a reputation for their tight musicianship and explosive live performances.

In 1987, Anthrax released their third studio album Among the Living which was a critical and commercial success. The album featured some of their most iconic tracks like I Am the Law, Caught in a Mosh, and Indians. Among the Living is considered a classic in the thrash metal genre and is often cited as Anthrax's finest hour. Following the success of Among the Living, Anthrax released State of Euphoria in 1988, Persistence of Time in 1990, and Sound of White Noise in 1993.

Throughout the 90s, Anthrax continued to evolve their sound, experimenting with different elements of punk rock, industrial metal, and rap. They collaborated with Public Enemy on the track Bring the Noise, which was a hit single in 1991. In 1994, Anthrax parted ways with singer Joey Belladonna, and John Bush took over the mic duties. With Bush, they released several successful albums such as We've Come for You All and Worship Music.
