The first comes from the Greek, meaning "brave men," which resonates with how we approach the music world, but it also means "men of honor." This meaning gave rise to the mafia in Calabria, with roots that reached our town through immigrants, becoming a part of the subculture in this northern stain. The suffix -stan comes from Sanskrit and means "land." The name we chose, therefore, means "land of the 'ndrangheta," or simply "land of the mafia." Because, in the end, this is the society we live in—whether in a small town or a great nation—poisoned by the Italian way of doing things, where friendship replaces merit, obedience replaces autonomy, and everything becomes bureaucracy and stagnation. It’s a great web from which there’s no escape, where those without money or compliance end up counting for nothing. The name aims to spotlight and denounce this pervasive practice in our eternally decaying society.
