. American singer Madonna has postponed her world tour after being admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital with a serious bacterial infection. According to her representative Guy Oseary, the pop superstar's infection was "grave" and led to "several days in the ICU." The star, who is known for being private about her health, was in the final stages of rehearsals. "We will share more details as soon as we have them, including a new start date for the tour," Oseary's statement says. The 64-year-old pop icon had planned to celebrate the 40th anniversary of her hit single "Holiday" by embarking on her first greatest hits tour. The highly anticipated tour, named Celebration Tour, would mark Madonna's return to stadiums after her more experimental and theatrical Madame X shows in 2019 and 2020. Some of those shows were cancelled due to the star's knee and hip injuries. Madonna's tour was supposed to begin in Vancouver, Canada on July 15. However, the singer-songwriter's representative stated that Madonna developed a "serious bacterial infection" on Saturday, June 24, and that all commitments would have to be put on hold as a result.
